  • Natural coastal beauty, idyllic seaside villages, fresh air and plenty of fresh seafood – these are just a few of the highlights of this hiking tour. Over the course of 4 days, you will hike one of the most stunning stretches of Britain’s longest footpath, the South West Coastal Path – voted one of the top walks in the world by Lonely Planet. The hike will be filled with fantastic scenery, geology, wildlife and history.

On Day 1 we will encounter one of the most dramatic stretches of the Cornish coast, Carnewas and the Bedruthan Steps. Here you can spend some time on the sand, walking amid the Jurassic picture-postcard structures and exploring the hidden coves. We’ll make sure you get plenty of pictures that will make all your friends back home jealous! Afterwards, we will drive northwards up the coast to the village of Boscastle, where the dramatic coastline inspired some of Thomas Hardy’s finest works. There is no hiking involved in Day 1, giving you time to recover from your long journey to Cornwall, but there are many fantastic sights to take in and even more to look forward to on your second day.

On Day 2 the hiking begins! This remote part of the Cornish coast is romantic and reflective, inspiring generations of Britain’s finest artists and writers. From Boscastle, we will venture along some of Cornwall’s highest cliff tops, across rugged headlands and past the old stone stiles and cottages that connect this stunning coastline to its maritime history. Our day of hiking will finish at the ruins of Tintagel Castle, one of the most iconic visitor attractions in the South West and the supposed birthplace of King Arthur.

Day 3 consists of a hike to the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac, renowned for having one of the narrowest streets in Britain! You’ll be able to sample some of Cornwall’s most famous dishes and we’ll prepare a typically British picnic for you to enjoy by the sea.

On Day 4, your final day, you will have the chance to see ‘The Rumps’, a location with stunning scenery, sweeping views and the chance to spot a dolphin or two if you are very lucky! As for lunch, you could even be dining at famous British chef Rick Stein’s classy seafood restaurant in Padstow.

Throughout the trip you will be in the company of your native British guide, who will show you the way, tell you all about the area’s history, teach you about local Cornish customs and point out all the secret spots most tourists miss! We’ll arrange all of your transport and baggage transfers so that when you arrive at your cosy British accommodation after a full day’s walking, your belongings will be waiting for you and you can put your feet up.

    * Please note: the itinerary for this tour is subject to change, based on accommodation availability, your train times and tour start/end points. All transfers are by car unless otherwise stated.

  • The hikes in Cornwall can be hard work, but the sites and scenery you will discover along the way make it all worth the effort. Here are some of the highlights:

BedruthanExcursion to Carnewas & the Bedruthan Steps

‘The Steps’ refer to unmissable pillars of rock which rise from the sands of Bedruthan Beach. This was a popular holiday destination for British people during the Victorian period, and you’ll still see the dramatic landscape featured on Cornwall postcards today. Your Cornish coastal adventure begins here at this impressive site with ample opportunities for pictures so you can be the envy of all your friends back home!

    BoscastleThe village of Boscastle

A small, historic fishing village so pretty it has been used for numerous British television series and film sets.

    Port Isaac2The village of Tintagel

Tintagel village is bigger than Boscastle but still cosy in size and full of charm. It is home to the mysterious remains of Tintagel Castle, and the unusual Old Post Office with its famously wavy slate roof and over 600 years of history to explore.

    Tintagel3Tintagel Castle

The magnificent ruins of King Arthur’s cliff-top castle are steeped in myth and mystery. We’ll teach you all about the legends surrounding King Arthur and, if time permits, we will cross over to Castle Island, the grand and opulent location of the ruins (entrance fees apply, subject to opening times).

    CamelotCamelot Castle

If choosing the Castle/Country House/Luxury Hotel option you could be spending the night in this 19th century castle which overlooks King Arthur’s ruins and the vast Atlantic ocean!

Port Isaac1The village of Port Isaac

A picturesque harbour village and the filming location of the British hit TV series ‘Doc Martin’. There will be time here to roam the narrow alleys (a bit like the hutongs of Beijing!) and maybe even catch a famous local band singing sea shanties and Cornish folk songs down on the harbour front.

RumpsThe iconic landscape of ‘The Rumps’

‘The Rumps’ make up a picture-perfect headland which used to be an Iron Age fort. We will walk to this dramatic spot on the coast so you can get some great holiday photos and even the chance to see some wildlife in the water!

Port Isaac5The seaside town of Padstow

A lively working fishing port and town, popular with British celebrities including Princes William and Harry! Padstow is also the location of famous British chef Rick Stein’s amazing seafood restaurants and a great place to try fish and chips. Why not browse some of the local gift shops and galleries tucked among the medieval streets, or sit by the harbour and breathe in the sea air, while we teach you how to go ‘crabbing’, a fun British holiday pastime.

  • We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but here’s a glimpse of the amazing walks you will be doing on this tour and an idea of the incredible scenery you will encounter!

    Coast4Boscastle to Tintagel

    (moderate, 9km, approx. 3-5 hours)

This is the first section of hiking on the tour, taking us along the Atlantic Wreckers Trail to Tintagel, with plenty of panoramic coastal views, secluded sandy beaches and a rock that looks like a towering elephant! Two of the best photo opportunities on this hike are Growers’ Rock and Ladies’ Window in Trevalga, and we’ll make sure you capture the perfect shot.

    Ladies windowTintagel to Port Isaac

    (strenuous, 16km, approx. 5-7 hours)

The walk to Port Isaac passes through disused slate quarries and rocky coves. It’s a challenging first few kilometres rewarded with stunning views of Trebarwith Sands, possibly Cornwall’s finest golden beach. The remaining section of the walk is much easier, passing along a beautiful stretch of Heritage Coast and through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, before arriving in the small fishing village of Port Isaac.

    Coast5The Rumps to Padstow

(easy to moderate, 7km, approx. 3-4 hours)

The final walk of this tour begins at a fishtail-shaped headland known as ‘The Rumps’, once a hill fort, built before the Roman invasion of Britain. Dolphins and seals are regularly sighted in small numbers here, but even if we don’t spot any, the earthy mounds and crashing waves make for some spectacular scenery. After a final hike down the coast and a short ferry across the Camel Estuary, we will finish our tour in the lively working fishing port of Padstow.
